Ever wanted to learn to sew?
So many of my customers and and friends tell me they’d love to learn to sew. Whether it’s for simple alterations or repairs to improve and extend the life of our clothes, or whether it’s to create beautiful handmade items that can be treasured or given away as gifts, there is so much that learning to sew can offer. Not to mention the therapeutic benefits of loosing yourself in a few hours of creativity, and the sense of achievement when you look at what you have created.
I have always wanted to share my love and passion for sewing and all things textiles, having been a professional seamstress for many years, I have finally decided that now is the time to share my knowledge and experience to inspire and teach others to sew.
Why not come along to the S79 Beginners Sewing Workshop?
My beginner workshop consists of two, 3hr sessions, where you will learn to use a sewing machine, gain confidence with basic sewing skills, follow a basic pattern and by the end of the first session we will make a beautiful lined draw string bag and during the second session we make a lined tote bag (see the pic below!) Sewing Machines and all haberdashery is provided, I have fabric off cuts you are welcome to use for your projects for free, as well as some fat quarter bundles to purchase at the sessions. You are of course also welcome to bring along your own fabric.
These are fun and relaxed sessions held in my sewing studio in Redditch, we have small group sizes, which means more hands on teaching.
So whether you are a complete beginner or would just like a refresher to gain more confidence sewing, these beginner sessions are ideal… and if you get the sewing bug and would like more guidance, I also run two further sessions covering zips and button holes as well as themed standalone one off workshops.

Until the online booking system is up and running, sessions are bookable by messaging me, I currently have availablity for week day evening sessions (6-9pm) and morning sessions (9.30 – 12.30). Please drop me a message if you would like details of up and coming dates!
